The O is a device that provides information about the artworks on display, and performs a suite of other functions and services, too. Please download the app to your iPhone available for Android mid-December , and bring your own headphones, too.
The O supports VoiceOver and screen reader functionality for people who are blind, have low vision, or are dyslexic. If you have difficulties walking long distances, we recommend bringing a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Or if you would like to borrow a wheelchair from Mona, see staff at the museum entrance. Please note that wheelchairs cannot be reserved in advance. We also have a wheelchair-accessible bus. If driving to Mona, you will find accessible parking at the top of the driveway; turn left and look for the signs.
Accessible toilets and baby change facilities can be found throughout Mona. Ask staff for directions when you get here, or check your O device. And if you have any advice or feedback on accessibility at Mona, please let us know by completing this online form.
If you are visiting Mona with more than ten friends, you will need to phone Ticket Support to organise your museum entry and transport tickets. School groups are very welcome at Mona but please book at least 14 days ahead of time. To book, we require one teacher per every ten students for contact tracing.
If you lose something, see staff at the visitor information desk, or email info mona. If you are sensitive to strobe and rapid-movement light, speak to staff about which artworks to avoid. The museum is mostly subterranean. Be aware if you don't like confined spaces and low lighting. Speak to staff if you need assistance. No tripods, flashes, or professional photography. This hotel is located on the pier and has panoramic views of the harbour or Mt Wellington. It is also around the corner from Salamanca markets and surrounding restaurants. The rooms are very spacious, and we were very comfortable as we had a room with 2 queen beds, great for a family of 4. Service was excellent, and we were able lucky enough to have a very early check in. The old woolstore used to be a wool storage and treatment facility around the turn of the 20th century.
Now they have spacious apartments very suitable for families including one, two and studio apartment styles. Location is also fantastic with short walks to major attractions, cafes and restaurants. The Brunswick Hotel is housed in a historic building, built in by the convicts of Hobart so you can be part of Tasmanian history.
