But for the hard core original fans, not worth it. Janet F Denver, CO contributions. I am not sure who is advising this crew but their emphasis is on the wrong thing. They have moved away from their personal experiences and artful story telling through dance, to a routine that is torturous to watch. Their skits situated between the dance scenes were "tone deaf" to what is going on in Hollywood and beyond with regards to sexual harassment and sexism.
I was appalled by the nature of skits and felt that they were worse than what you might expect from stereotyped drunken frat boys. I think this show is not "family friendly" and is setting an example for children that is destructive.
Most people in the audience were not entirely sure how to respond and there was a level of discomfort that was palpable. We left the show and spoke with a manager. We got a full refund, but I still think people need to know what the show is about. Management needs to reexamine the focus of the show and the message they are putting out there; time to get back to the dancing and positive storytelling that made the group so popular on TV.
In addition, the theater set-up is not great and the tickets are overpriced for the experience. We took our refund and got wonderful seats to a Cirque performance instead. Blake99 B. The first thing that we thought of, "what is Jabbawockeez? A very entertaining 90 min show at Monte Carlo filled with audience interaction, comedy and unreal dance moves. Tweens and teens will absolutely love the show.
If you got kids, check it out. Timothy S 83 contributions. I am a huge fan of the group. HUGE fan. I have seen them at every venue they have had on the Vegas strip since Monte Carlo.
It is still a good show, not as good as some of their past shows, but I would still go see it repeatedly. There are some pointers for the show like not so much video segments, a little less time on audience interaction, and a little more dancing. The "street fighter" segment could use some work. It was my least favorite part of the show. The show suffers alot due to the venue.
The venue is horribly put together. So if someone is tall and sits in front of you then you are out of luck. The best way to see is to be on the front row of either the bottom section or top section. Also there is no way I would get the seating in the extreme back because they too are on the same height as all the other seats in the upper section.
If you have seats within 10 seats from either outer edge then you will miss alot. The stage is small all around so be aware.
The first row in the middle section on either lower or upper are the best seats. The seat prices are too high for what you get. Also the merch is too high. It was a good show. Would I see it again Would I pay the price for the middle section front row Would I be mad about it Would I buy merch I hope this review helps people out. Showing results of Christina L Meade, KS. I guess what I'm asking is if they ever pull anyone on stage, or single someone out?
Or would that just be stupid. I do want them to pick me Thanks for the advice. Read all replies. The closer the better though. We had a taller person sitting in front of us and the view was obstructed. We were in the last row in the front section, middle.
Brad C 1 contribution. Morning JTC , was wondering if you were familiar with the Jabba's before seeing them on this occasion?
Since I enjoy the Jabba's, I am interested in your opinion In general, most negative reviews center around the facility itself, and that the Jabba's seem bored, stale and going through the motions. What bothered you more the facility or the performers themselves? And thanks for any addition insight into the show. Sel07 Austin, TX 46 contributions.
This was the 4th time we have seen them. The 4th at MGM Grand. Yes the other shows "felt" a bit more energetic over all when I look back.
But, 1 this show was really really good, and 2 if my memory is correct, the Monte Carlo shows included another dance crew - Super CR3W - So, now the is different because its not all the same people from the beginning.
They also had a bigger stage at the other places I believe. Which affects what all they can do and how many crew members can be up there at once.
The venue at MGM wasn't bad. Just small. However, this new show as more audience interaction, which was very entertaining! I would say the biggest negative for me, was a couple of times it felt like it was "dragging" but I dont think it was because they were going through the motions, just happened to be that part of the story they were telling.
I will say, each show we saw, felt different unlike the two times we saw the Blue Man Group. Both times we saw the Blue Man Group, even though the shows had different titles, it was the same basic format and the second time, things were predictable. You just dont get that with the Jabbawockeez, and I feel that is because, the audience really adds to their spontaneity and energy of the show, with how much the involve the audience.
When we go back to Vegas, if they have a different show, we will see it. We like them and the three different shows we have seen enough, that they would be a must see each time they have a new show. I would recommend it to any one, including families with kids. And hey, when we bought our tickets they came with one free drink and popcorn. So, its a great deal!
Are little ones allowed? Thinking of front row tickets. Discover La Quinta, CA. We just went to the show last night. Sat front row just left of the stage. Walk past the Jabbawockeez theater towards the Race and Sports Book.
